The Marshall County Soil Conservation District was officially organized on April 23, 1952 It is a legal subdivision of the state government authorized by the Soil Conservation District Law of 1939. The District is directed by a five-member Board of Supervisors, two of which are appointed to office and three that are elected by local landowners.
The current members of the SCD Board are Chairman Dave Hunter, Vice-Chairman Mike Collins, Treasurer Jason Gillespie and Supervisors John Whitaker and Frank Kilpatrick.
The Marshall County Field Office Natural Resources Conservation Service and Marshall County Soil Conservation District staff consists of Amanda Cash, District Conservationist and Susan Hunter, Administrative Assistant.
